Growing up in the greater Los Angeles area of Southern California. Daniel Griffin was a long time neighbor to adversity. However, having traveled overseas as a professional athlete and having established himself as a philanthropist and successful entrepreneur, Daniel is a sterling example of an inner- city success story. Mr. Griffin is more than a proverbial overcomer of urban ills; rather, he has become a conduit for positive change in underserved communities much like the neighborhoods in which he was reared.
After graduating from Crenshaw High School where he was an All-American basketball player, garnering back-to-back city championships and one state championship to cap his senior year. He then went forward to play collegiate basketball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and subsequently graduated from Rhode Island University with a BA in speech communication. The love of basketball lured Daniel overseas where he played in a professional league in Taipei, Taiwan. After returning to the states, Daniel began teaching in the Compton Unified School District. He is a current substitute teacher to give back to the community and continue his mission to empower today’s youth.
Daniel Griffin is currently a successful entrepreneur and co -owner of one of the top-grossing Wingstops in the country. As a Wingstop franchisee Daniel is directly involved with operations, staffing, human resources, community relations, local marketing and catering. Daniel has received awards from the Black Business Association and Congresswoman Karen Bass. He supports many local organizations such as the Jenesse Center and the Brotherhood Crusade and is very active in the community. Daniel has a strong rapport with the local business community and the community at large.
